Apple: Support for musician app discontinued, you should know that now

Apple has announced that it will end support for the Music Memos app. A new update gives you the option of exporting music recordings to a new app.

  • Support for Music Memos will end on March 1, 2021. Up until this date you can export your recordings to the “Voice Memos” app.
  • To be able to continue creating music on your phone or tablet, you can import the music recordings into Garage Band and edit them there.
  • From the beginning of March the app will no longer be available in the App Store and all your recordings will be deleted.

Apple announces that support for the Music Memos app will end on March 1, 2021. The recently released update to version 1.0.7 of the app gives you the option of exporting your music recordings to the “Voice memos” app.

Like Apple on the own support website reported, you will no longer be able to download the app from the App Store after the beginning of March. On Cell phones and Tablets with iOS 14 or iPadOS 14, use should continue to be possible until March 2021. You have to make sure to export your recordings by this date, otherwise they will be deleted.

In order to be able to continue creating your own songs and music with an Apple device, the music recordings from Music Memos can be exported to Garage Band.
