We have already seen several initiatives that allow you to have a virtual makeup tester. A simple way to see how the color of a certain product looks before sending it to the shopping cart.
However, this dynamic is only available in specific brands, so our favorite products may not be included in this virtual makeup. Google wants to solve this problem by allowing you to use its search engine as our virtual fitting room.
How to test makeup from Google
But Google wants to go a step further and contribute to this age of online shopping. So its new integration offers the ability to try makeup virtually. You only need the mobile camera and the Google app.
So if you have doubts about how you will have a certain color of lipstick or eyeshadow, you can use the Google search engine as your virtual fitting room. And the dynamics is very simple. As you can see in the images above, you just have to type the name of the product in the search engine and click “Test” to enable the camera permissions.
Once you perform those steps, you will have your own virtual fitting room to test the makeup collection that interests you and browse all the available shades.
Although it will not be like going through the store, it will give you an idea of how a certain product looks with your skin tone or the garment you want to combine. And if you don’t want to use the camera, you can browse the carousel and see how a certain shade or product looks on the models.
A dynamic that can be applied to try a new product or take a look at an entire collection to choose the tones that will remain among our favorites. For now, this dynamic will only be implemented in the United States with select products from L’Oreal, Charlotte Tilbury MAC Cosmetic, and Black Opal.
Perhaps in the near future more brands will join and this dynamic will spread worldwide.
