To turn any web article into a podcast with this extension for Chrome

Send as Podcast is a Chrome extension that allows to convert the articles of any website to podcasts thanks to Artificial Intelligence, allowing them to be listened to both through the browser itself, adding its own web player to it, and that will have a series of basic controls, or directly into your favorite podcast show available.

Both the extension and the service are offered free of charge, without the need for user registration, by audiblogs.com, although it must be taken into account that the experience is similar to listening to audiobooks, with an electronically generated voiceover, with more than acceptable results, although it will always lag behind in comparison to voice-overs made by professionals.

Enabling listening as an alternative to reading

It is a solution that will make it possible to reconcile the monitoring of pending items with the performance of other activities simultaneously, for example, with the performance of sports activities on duty, or you can rest from the day but without losing sight of the favorite subjects.

In this regard, the Send as Podcast extension supports content in the following languages: English, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Swedish, Turkish.

During the installation no additional permissions are required, as indicated in Ghacks and installs a button in the browser, although alternatively it has the keyboard shortcut Ctrl-Shift-Z, to listen to the article as a podcast of the current tab in the browser itself.

It also generates its own URL with which to bring the sound content to the application podcasts favorite.

While it supports listening to only the content of the current tab, unlike Podcastle, users will be able to take advantage of the capabilities of their podcast programs to gradually add URLs to play queue to play web site articles successively.

It currently has version 1.2.8, released on February 8, and that can be installed both in Google’s own Chrome and in other browsers that are based on Chromium and are compatible with Chrome extensions.

It is already a matter of choosing the most opportune moment to try this extension with any favorite article, or with that content that, due to its length, may be more bearable to listen to than to read on a screen.
