Philips Hue Play Lightbar cannot be controlled via Bluetooth

According to the official statement, it will not be possible to control the Philips Hue Play Lightbar via Bluetooth. This is because the main purpose of the Play Lightbar is to support the Hue entertainment area or to expand the picture. In order for this to work, one of the things you need is the Philips Hue Bridge. And therefore the use of Bluetooth in connection with the Play Lightbar was not activated.

BUT: that doesn’t mean that Bluetooth doesn’t play a fundamental role for Philips Hue. The latest outdoor products can – provided the current firmware is used – be controlled via Bluetooth. However, this option is not really officially communicated, as it can happen, especially in connection with larger properties, that the devices cannot be reached in this way.

With a view to increased user comfort, however, it could be worthwhile to try the whole thing out, right?
