The third most important smartphone manufacturer in Germany wants to expand its business further.
Xiaomi European headquarters planned in Düsseldorf
In July 2020, Xiaomi opened its first flagship store in Germany. Due to the contact restrictions, the store had to close in December. However, this did not harm the Chinese manufacturer. The sales figures in Germany are increasing steadily. That is why Germany boss Alan Chen Li wants to expand the business further and has announced a European headquarters in Düsseldorf.
A precise schedule for setting up the headquarters is difficult to predict because of the corona pandemic. A location is planned with several hundred employees who work in areas such as logistics, finance, service and marketing.
Only about a year after opening in Germany, Xiaomi was established as the third most important smartphone brand in the last quarter. Only Apple and Samsung were ahead of the Chinese company that increased its device sales by 140 percent compared to the previous year. Xiaomi thus achieved a market share of ten percent.
