AirPlay support for Apple Fitness +

With the second beta version of iOS 14.5, developers and public beta testers can stream Apple Fitness + workouts on AirPlay 2 enabled TVs starting this week.

Play videos on big screens without Apple TV

With the second beta version, it is now possible to watch videos on large screens without Apple TV. Although this function was already included in the first beta version, it did not work yet.

The measurement data from the Apple Watch are not displayed on the screen with AirPlay 2 – unlike when used with Apple TV, iPhone or iPad. To read the data, users have to look at their iPhone, iPad or the connected Apple Watch.

AirPlay 2 capable televisions are available from Samsung, Sony or LG, for example. iOS 14.5 should be available to all users by the end of March or beginning of April. Anyone can register for free as a public beta tester and thus have early access to the functions.
