OnePlus has announced the 9 Series Launch Event for today. In this, the OnePlus Watch has just been officially presented.
OnePlus Watch officially launched
OnePlus officially launched its first smartwatch today. With details leaked over and over again over the past few weeks, it wasn’t much news that was revealed in the 9 Series Launch Event.
The smartwatch with the 46 mm case and a 1.39 inch AMOLED display is covered on the top with curved 2.5 D glass. In the Classic Edition, easily replaceable silicone bracelets are attached to the stainless steel case. With the simple, inconspicuous design, OnePlus wants to make the watch suitable for both sports and suits.
The watch is equipped with many smartwatch functions, such as mirroring and answering notifications or calls and local music playback of up to 500 songs via Bluetooth headphones. If you have a OnePlus television, you can use the smartwatch as a remote control. It automatically reduces the volume of the TV when a call is answered and automatically switches it off 30 minutes after falling asleep. There are over 50 dials available for customizing the watch, some of which can even be adapted to the smartphone design. A highlight from OnePlus’ point of view is the long battery life. This should be up to two weeks. The company even promises that the battery will last up to a week with a 20-minute charge and one day with a charge time of 5 minutes.
The fitness functions of the smartwatch
In terms of fitness functions, the OnePlus Watch offers over 110 sports to choose from. In addition to standard sports such as running or swimming, there are also more “unusual” sports on board, such as parcours. During the activity, details on measured values such as heart rate, distance, calorie consumption, speed and SWOLF efficiency (for swimmers) can be tracked and viewed on the watch. With the integrated GPS, you don’t have to take your smartphone with you.
In addition, the OnePlus Watch can be used to monitor the oxygen content in the blood (SpO2) and the stress level. Breathing training and getting up reminders can also be activated via the app, so that the user receives a reminder for the implementation.
The OnePlus Watch is dust and water protected according to IP68, so that you can also use it while swimming and track the lanes.
In addition to the Classic, there will soon also be a limited edition of the watch. The case is said to be made of a cobalt alloy and a dial made of sapphire crystal. Instead of a silicone bracelet, the limited edition is delivered with a leather bracelet.
The OnePlus Classic Edition is available in the colors Midnight Black and Moonlight Silver. It is already listed in the OnePlus shop and Amazon with a price of € 159 and will be available from 04/26/21.
