Razer made known its peculiar protective face mask during the last CES 2021, a digital event where we also got to know other prototypes of the giant of the gaming such as its advanced chair or gaming station, the Razer Project Brooklyn.
Now the Taiwan-based company has given the green light to Project Hazel’s production. The peculiar facial mask with built-in technology, being equipped with an intelligent filtering system, transparent acrylic panel, loudspeaker and RGB lighting.
The Razer face mask is a reality and will hit the market
Speaking to Yahoo Finance, Razer’s CEO Min-Liang Tan said the company had received great demand and public interest in its new product. In the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic, the face mask is a very popular accessory.
Although the population is already starting to be vaccinated, the personal protection mask will continue to be mandatory in many countries and will remain an indispensable accessory in the coming months, or years. It is against this backdrop that the Razer product comes to life.
“With this in mind, let’s move on and (…) Project Hazer will be a reality. We are going to make it produced and, unfortunately, we will wear masks for a long time “. Min-Liang Tan pointed to Yahoo in a recent interview.
Despite vaccination, masks will continue to be necessary
The Razer mask includes a built-in microphone and loudspeaker so that the user’s voice is clearly transmitted, avoiding disruption of the dialogue, or the muffled voice. They are small electronic components that require a rechargeable battery.
This product stands out for its protection effectiveness comparable to N95 masks. It is equipped with two bacterial filtration capsules, being able to filter 95% of the particles suspended in the air.
It also has adjustable straps for greater comfort when using the mask and to ensure a precise fit on the user’s face. It will be available in two color schemes, darker / black and lighter / white.
Project Hazel will eventually reach the market
By creating strong contact with the face, the Razer mask creates an airtight seal to prevent external contamination. Air circulation is guaranteed by the included fan.
The Razer CEO did not specify a date for the arrival of his protective mask to the market, nor did he specify a time forecast for the start of mass production. However, the project will now be on its way to that destination.
It is a peculiar product, suitable for the times we live in and far from being the most bizarre gadget to be considered by Razer.
