Apple Watch can monitor cardiovascular function

According to researchers at Stanford University, the Apple Watch can be used to monitor the frailty of cardiovascular patients with a six-minute walk.

Apple Watch helps reduce doctor visits

According to the researchers, the distance covered in the six minutes and additional data provided via the specially developed VascTrac app can be used to measure and monitor the performance and thus the frailty of the cardiovascular patient. According to the researchers, the results were almost as precise as a clinical test.

The third-party software is no longer necessary with WearOS 7, because the 6-minute walk test and other mobility data are already integrated into it. This enables cardiovascular patients to monitor their own performance independently. This can mean that visits to the doctor can be reduced because patients no longer have to go to the doctor for the function test.

You can find it in the health app under “Discover”, “Airways” and then “Six-minute walk test”.
