Apple TV – New version with support for 120 Hz?

In the beta version of tvOS 14.5, references to support for 120 Hz have appeared. So are we going to see a new version soon?

The latest televisions these days have built in support for 120 Hz. A new generation of Apple TVs that support this 120 Hz standard will soon be around the corner. At least that’s what an article by 9TO5Mac what hints we discovered in the new beta of tvOS 14.5.

So far, the support of 120 Hz on the current Apple TV devices is not possible because the hardware is not designed for it and the HDMI 2.0 port is limited to 4K with 60 Hz. The entire interface would run smoother at 120 Hz and games could also benefit from it.

A new generation of Apple TVs has been suspected for over a year. It definitely fits into the picture if it now comes with an HDMI 2.1 port and 120 Hz support.
