Two models were also introduced with the new antimicrobial coating, one is the already known S42 and the other is a push-button device.
Mint well known, there are usually more microorganisms on the surface of mobile phones than under the edge of a broken, third – world shadow chair, and they are not as easy to clean as they should be often and thoroughly. A higher level of IP protection helps a lot, but chemicals should be handled with care due to possible surface treatments (oleophobic, hydrophobic, etc.).
Cat S42 H+ (Hygiene Plus During the manufacturing process, they form a protective layer on the device using silver ions, which prevents the appearance of microbes on the surface of the device. All external components of the device Biomaster treated with antimicrobial technology and tested according to ISO 22196. As a result, up to 80% less microbes (viruses, fungi, bacteria) can grow on the surface within 15 minutes and up to 99.9% within 24 hours. In addition, the devices can obviously be cleaned regularly with soapy water or disinfectant without affecting its operation.
The Cat S42 is H + IP68 and IP69 rated, immersed in warm soapy water and can withstand more serious cleaning processes. During the tests, it was wiped 3,000 times with a disinfectant wipe and exposed to various chemicals used in everyday life, such as the hand sanitizer we also use. The new Cat B40 4G push-button phone is also IP68, IP69 certified and also made with Hygiene Plus, which is an antibacterial housing according to ISO22196 certification.
According to the Hygenie Plus specification, it reports the following parameters and compliance for CAT S42 H + and B40 4G:
- Waterproof and submersible – cleaning with soap and disinfectant
- They are resistant to disinfectant – wiped 3000 times with wipes during tests
- They are resistant to chemicals – alcohol wiping 100 times, testing with hand sanitizer
- No case required
- Sand, dust and dirt resistant, IP68 and IP69
- Compliance with military standards, MIL-SPEC 810H, resistant to extreme temperature changes, strong vibrations
- Testing from a height of 1.8 m by dropping on a steel surface
- Water resistance (Cat S42 H + up to 1.5 m for 35 minutes, B40 up to 1.2 m for 35 minutes)
The CAT S42 is not a new device, the test can be found for this, a B40 4G but yes. The device has a traditional push-button design 145 x 62 x 18 millimeters and 157 grams, this housing accommodates a 1800 mAh battery that can be charged via a Type-C connector. The battery, by the way, guarantees a standby time of one month and a talk time of 11, according to the manufacturer’s calculations.
CAT B40 4G
The 2.4-inch QVGA panel is now quite fairly sized, with one in the engine compartment Unisoc T117 chip works and internal storage expands up to 32 GBcompatible with microSD card. Being a silly phone, on the other hand, that’s pretty much the essence of the hardware. It has a Jack connector, Bluetooth 5.0 standard, a 2 megapixel imaging unit and a flashlight with over 100 lumens. The CAT S42 H + and CAT B40 will be available from May 2021, the former at a gross price of HUF 104,990 and the CAT B40 4G at a gross price of HUF 29,990.
