E3 2021 will have one less announcer than expected as Konami withdraws from the list of participants while keeping its plans.
It is with regret that ESA, organizer of E3, and Konami have announced that the latter will ultimately not participate in the virtual edition of theE3 2021. While it had been several weeks since it was known that Konami would be present, the company retracted barely a month before the start of the event. It is not with the intention of mounting its own event, as it intends to do Sony for example, but because of a delay in the development of its games.

In a message posted on Twitter, Konami stated that “ due to bad timing, we will not be ready for the 2021 edition of E3. We do, however, want to assure our fans that we are in full development on several key projects, so keep an eye out for the months to come. If we don’t participate this year, we still have great respect for ESA and we know that the 2021 edition will be a great success. We will continue to support ESA and wish the best to all other participants this year ”.
Regarding Konami’s projects, nothing has been revealed for the moment and the only known project to date is the game. PES 2022, for which Konami has just signed a partnership with the Italian club SSC Napoli. We therefore wonder what the studio has in store for us behind this major teasing. ESA was keen to react to this decision by expressing its support for Konami. Event organizers are eager to find out what the studio is up to and see their return for the 2022 edition, which is expected to be held in a physical way. In the process, ESA also revealed that the program for E3 2021 will soon be unveiled to the general public in order to better prepare for the event.
