Volvo’s Polestar 2 receives an update with a digital key so that the car can also be opened with a smartphone.
Polestar 2 – smartphone can be used as a digital key
Users of a Polestar 2 from Volvo can look forward to new functions after an OTA update. From now on, Volvo’s electric vehicle can also be opened and started with a digital key (beta). A total of 18 Bluetooth sensors in the vehicle ensure secure authentication with the connected smartphone.
The Polestar Digital Key is one of our most anticipated features because the convenience of not having to carry a physical key with you is enormous. Using the mobile phone as a vehicle key makes perfect sense, especially in an age in which the smartphone has become our everyday companion.

With the update, however, additional functions will be added. You can now control other vehicle functions in the associated app, such as the air conditioning or locking the vehicle. The battery level can also be read in the app.
