We are May 4th. For fans of the Star Wars saga, this date marks the worldwide celebration of the universe imagined by George Lucas in 1977. From a play on words in English « May the Force be with you » and « May the 4th be with you », this day allows fans around the world to look back on more than 44 years of films and series. It is also the perfect opportunity to see or review the Star Wars stamped productions, available on Disney+. The platform will also take advantage of this day to unveil its new series: The Bad Batch.
The Bad Batch – starting May 4
In May 2020, Clone Wars ended with a bang on Disney +. A highly anticipated conclusion from fans of the animated series launched in 2008 on Cartoon Network. A year later, Lucasfilm has not drawn a line on animation and is already preparing for the next generation. The platform has been broadcasting since today The Bad Batch, a series by the creator of The Mandalorian and Clone Wars : Dave Filoni.
She will tell how the Bad Batch squad, an elite troop of experimental clones genetically different from those constituting the great army of the republic, find their marks in a galaxy undergoing transformation after the Clone Wars. The plot will therefore take us directly after the events of The Clone Wars. The first episode, broadcast today, will be among the longest ever offered by the platform. This chapter will last over 70 minutes. The second episode will be broadcast next Friday. Then, the series will find a weekly rhythm, with a new episode every Friday. The Mandalorian (saison 1 & 2) – disponible
If you were still hesitant to jump into watching The Mandalorian, don’t wait any longer. This May 4 is the perfect opportunity to discover the series produced by Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau. She follows the adventures of Mando, a bounty hunter who meets on his way, a being with extraordinary powers. Star Wars episodes 1 to 8 – already available
Star Wars is also and above all the original saga and good news: it is almost entirely available on Disney +. Thus, fans will be able to see or re-watch the first six chapters produced by George Lucas, but also the two chapters of postlogy, by Rian Johnson and JJ Abrams. On the other hand, it will be necessary to wait a little longer before discovering The Rise of Skywalker. Released on our screens in December 2019, the film is subject to the media chronology and therefore cannot logically join the Disney + catalog before December 2022. Rogue One – already available
The spin-off of the saga, which explores the period between episode 3 and episode 4 of Star Wars is available on Disney +. Directed by Gareth Edwards, the film follows the adventures of a group of extraordinary individuals who remain true to their values and who will attempt the impossible at the risk of their lives. They will become heroes. In the cast, we find in particular Felicity Jones, Ben Mendelsohn and Diego Luna. The latter will also be in the cast of the Andor series, which will soon be released on Disney +.
Solo : A Star Wars Story – 28 mai
Before joining forces with Luke and Leia to defeat Darth Vader, Han Solo was a scoundrel who roamed the galaxy aboard the famous Millennium Falcon. Ron Howard offers us a dive into the origins of the character imagined by George Lucas. In the cast, we find Alden Ehrenreich (Ave, César!) And Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones). Donald Glover (Community) is also part in the role of Lando Calrissian. The film will land on Disney + on May 28.
