A new “Developer Update” is planned to show future Overwatch 2 players all the changes related to the PvP mode.
Blizzard is making an appointment with Overwatch fans on May 20 to discover an unprecedented gameplay video of the highly anticipated second opus. It has been a while since Blizzard had not given any news ofOverwatch 2 except when the company had warned that the game would not be released in 2021. The two hours of gameplay planned will be broadcast live and will focus on elements of the player-versus-player game mode. More specifically, Blizzard will show the differences of this mode compared to the first Overwatch, which will allow players to get an idea of the changes made by the studios.
In addition to the new gameplay, players will be able to see a few appearances from Overwatch 2 game director. Aaron Keller, following the departure of the iconic Jeff Kaplan from Blizzard. He will be joined by Dion Rogers, artistic director, and Geoff Goodman, who is in charge of designing the heroes. They will be there to discuss the changes that the gameplay will introduce and the usefulness of those changes. Aaron Keller will also meet fans of the franchise on the Overwatch subreddit on May 24 to discuss with the developers the last 5 years of development of the game.
In the meantime, you can watch Blizzard’s live stream via Twitch or Youtube and the broadcast will begin at 9 p.m. PT. It will last three hours in total, or two hours of gameplay and an hour of discussion with the developers. Note that everything that will be presented during the live demonstration will still be under development. Aaron Keller therefore warns that some things could change by the time the game is released next year.
