The patent dispute between Google and Sonos continues. Sonos has now been able to obtain a ban on the sale of some Google devices.
Nest Audio and Pixel 4a are no longer allowed to be sold
Things haven’t really run smoothly between Google and Sonos for a long time. Both companies have sued each other and accuse the other of violating patents. Sonos ‘lawsuit against Google concerns the transmission technology Google Cast, which is said to infringe Sonos’ patents.
Now there is another interesting twist in the dispute between the two corporations. A German court is said to have obtained an injunction through which the Pixel 4a smartphone, the Nest Audio smart speaker and the YouTube Music app can no longer be sold. However, Sonos did not say which court made this decision.
Google was disappointed with this step and what it claims to be “false information about our partnership and technology”. Google has appealed the ruling. The Nest Audio smart speaker is currently also available as normal in the Google Store.
