The explosive 64-player battle royale mode is coming to cross-play on more platforms starting next week.
For those nostalgic for the Bomberman franchise, know that Super Bomberman R Online coming soon to consoles and PC. For the occasion, Konami unveiled an explosive new trailer. We can see the mode battle royale in action, which can support up to 64 players at the same time. As in any battle royale, the goal is to be the last to survive. To do this, you need to detonate your opponents using your strategically placed bombs. For this, several maps are available and you must switch between them to succeed in trapping all the players.
You can customize your Bomber with costumes from geek culture, like Old Snake from Metal Gear Solid for example. Your bomb can also be customized with different patterns or unusual shapes. Konami paid special attention to detail since a custom bomb also has a different explosion than a normal bomb. However, custom bombs will not have any special powers or perks, the change being purely cosmetic.
The game will operate per season, one season for three months. Two battle passes will be available, one free and one paid. Super Bomberman R Online was only available on Stadia since last year and after gaining unanimous support from subscribers, it has been ported to more platforms. The title will be released on May 27 on PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC. However, Microsoft console owners will have to wait a bit since no release date has been mentioned for the Xbox One or Xbox Series. The title will support cross-play, so you shouldn’t have too much trouble finding a game.
