From time to time we have already used the dongle from AAWireless reported. Exactly with this it has now been possible to use Android Auto on a Tesla in an early version.
Android Auto runs in a Tesla
With the dongle from AAWireless it should be possible to make Android Auto available wirelessly. To do this, the dongle is coupled to a car or the radio / entertainment system via USB and a connection is established.
In an early version, a user on YouTube showed what the whole thing looks like on the display in the Tesla. A good thing from a visual point of view, but you quickly notice that the system is still extremely sluggish. Nevertheless, the apps are available and can also be started.
This is particularly exciting because Tesla has a very good on-board system, but it is quite closed. For example, only Spotify works as a music service. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are not available in their entirety.
Let’s see how the project develops. In any case, it’s already interesting to see Android Auto on the Tesla.
