The road is not the only element in which electric scooters can evolve! A French start-up has developed an electrically powered “sea scooter” with a very long range.
The BlueWay is a kind of paddle that replaces manual propulsion by an electric motor powering a propeller. Quiet, unlike traditional turbines, this method also has the advantage of reducing energy consumption: a propeller propulsion of 400 W is equivalent to a turbine of 750 W. The cruising speed is 7 km / h.
For tourism professionals
The BlueWay was designed by Next Blue Tech, a start-up created in 2017 in Aubagne. The 12 kg “scooter” can carry from one to three people (within the limit of a total of 150 kg) on its 250 cm long board. An Android application allows you to monitor the battery level, the engine power, as well as the number of hours of operation. A self-diagnosis can also be launched from the app.
The Samsung battery with a capacity of 2 kWh provides an autonomy of 7 hours in mixed use, enough to catch sunburns! Its lifespan is estimated at 10 years, for a seasonal use of 6 hours per day for 4 months.
The float is resistant to shocks and intensive use. In addition, Next Blue Tech has put the package on the use of recyclable materials: the high density polyethylene floats are 100% recyclable, and the mechanical components (engine, transmission, etc.) are also made from recyclable materials.
The sought-after customers are tourism professionals, such as water sports equipment rental companies, hotels near bodies of water or even holiday villages. The copy is invoiced 5,830 € excluding tax.
