Today, the presentation of a health pass becomes compulsory in places of culture and leisure accommodating more than 50 people. Here is what will change in theaters from this Wednesday, July 21.
The rules change in the dark rooms in this July 21, 2021. Ten days after Emmanuel Macron’s speech, the health pass becomes mandatory in all places of culture and leisure gathering more than 50 people. These new measures therefore logically apply to cinemas, which will have to adapt their health protocols. Here are the things that are changing this Wednesday.
The compulsory Health Pass to make yourself a canvas
As of today, all spectators will have to show their feet before being able to enjoy the many feature films showing in French cinemas. Concretely, each one will have to present complete proof of vaccination. Vaccination is considered complete 7 days after the 2nd injection for vaccines like Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca. For people who have received a dose of Johnson & Johnson de Janssen will have to wait 4 weeks before being able to present their Health Pass.
If you are not vaccinated, you must present a negative RT-PCR or antigen result of less than 48 hours. It will also be possible to present a certificate of reinstatement with a positive RT-PCR or antigen test that is at least 11 days old and less than 6 months old.
The mask becomes optional
No more fogging up eyeglasses for moviegoers. With surprise, the government announced the end of the compulsory mask in rooms of more than 50 people. Concretely, when a health pass is required, spectators will be able to do without their masks during the session. On the other hand, it can nevertheless be “Made compulsory by the prefect of the department when the local circumstances justify it, as well as by the operator or the organizer.”
Since June 30, cinemas can finally sell out. The gauges put in place at the reopening have gradually been phased out and will obviously not return this summer. Spectators will therefore not have to observe the formerly regulatory distance of several seats between visitors or groups of visitors. However, to circumvent the new health rules, some operators could organize sessions for 49 spectators and thus dispense with the obligation to present a health pass.
The first weeks of testing
To put all these measures in place, the government allows itself a period of adaptation “Of a week or a little more” according to spokesperson Gabriel Attal. During this period, there should be no penalties for venue operators and event organizers.
You are now ready to indulge in the pleasure of the dark room. Recall that on this blessed day of July 21, Kaamelott’s first opus has just been released in theaters. Discover our review here.
