Wyze has filed a lawsuit in the United States against a patent owned by Xiaomi and Roborock to save its robot vacuum listing on Amazon.
Wyze vacuum robot threatens to end on Amazon
In November of last year I read about it reportedthat the manufacturer of smart home products Wyze will also include its own vacuum robot in its range. Not uncommon, as many companies want to jump on the robot vacuum hype. The Wyze vacuum robot could also be bought in Germany, but it is currently no longer available.
In June of this year, Wyze received an email from Amazon in the USA, in which it is stated that the owner of the US patent number 10,271,699 accuses Wyze of a patent infringement. Xiaomi, who is known as an investor in Roborock, is also one of the signatories of the patent. In a further email, Wyze was requested by Amazon to deal directly with the patent holder or within three weeks at the “Utility Patent Neutral Evaluation Procedure”From Amazon. Without taking action, Wyze would probably lose the listing of its vacuum robot on Amazon.
Wyze gave the District Court in Seattle four examples of the current state of the art in his complaint in the US and is asking the court to invalidate the patent. I’m curious how this fight will end.
