Twitter is preparing a new feature for live audio rooms, which could change the way users use this tool on the platform.
Voice effects may soon be added to Twitter Spaces, opening up a range of possibilities for those who want to create a more fun environment.
Twitter will add a new function to its audio rooms
As mentioned in Engadget, several developers have discovered that Twitter is working on a new speech manipulation feature for Spaces. For example, Jane Manchun Wong, shows a screenshot where you can see this new option under the name Voice Transformer with the message “change the way your audience listens to you by selecting a voice transformation”.
Although no effect is shown, Manchun Wong mentions that this feature will allow to add echo to the audio and change the pitch of the voice. Y Steve Moser add more information by sharing some of the options that this voice manipulation feature offers, as can be seen from the code.
As you can see in the screenshot he shares, cartoon voice effects, karaoke, space phone, stadium, bee, microphone, among others, are mentioned. Yes, Snapchat-style voice effects. Twitter has not mentioned anything about this new feature for audio rooms, so we only know that it is a feature in development. It is possible that Twitter decides to test it at some point with a group of users, or I ended up being part of one of the future updates of the application.
So far, we have seen a variety of live audio rooms on Twitter, which not only focus on professional areas but follow a variety of themes. But the integration of these filters or voice effects could definitely take away that formal dynamic and give way to creating a more fun setting, or encouraging more users to participate by camouflaging their voice.
