Amazon has once again published a small update for the USA, which makes the Amazon Alexa voice assistant a bit more useful again. With the update, a reminder can be specifically assigned to a household member via Alexa.
Alexa, remind dad to take the pills at 5 p.m.
As The Verge reported there was a small update, which now makes it possible to address a reminder directly to a user of your own household with Alexa. A prerequisite for this is that you have recorded several voice profiles in the account. Like you Household profiles and voice profiles set up, I had already described in another post.
So that you can easily select the person for a new reminder, you are able to save a short name / nickname for the respective person in the profile settings. “Peter Meier” then also becomes “Papa”.
“Remind dad about the pills today at 5 p.m.”
“Remind Peter to go shopping on Monday at 9 a.m.”
So you then have the opportunity to create a reminder for Peter or for Dad. The function is again only available in the USA, whether and when it will come to Germany is not known.
