After simplifying its price list, Shadow’s transformation continues, with the availability of 5,000 new French subscriptions, without a prior waiting list.
Since his takeover by OVH earlier this year, we wondered what Shadow sauce was going to be eaten. If the cloud computing service had established itself a few years ago as one of the most ambitious technological promises of its generation, it must be admitted that seven years later, Shadow still has not revolutionized our computers. After having come close to disaster, the company is now aiming for a simpler and above all more suitable offer.
A price increase… for a good cause?
Since the arrival of OVH in the equation, Shadow has thus fundamentally revised its business model. Exit the extended packages, until then offered from € 12.99 per month. The company now offers a unique offer at € 29.99 per month. A price increase that has not been to everyone’s liking, but which should allow, assures Eric Sele, CEO of the company, to “Restore trust with our users by letting our actions speak for themselves”. Objective for the company: “To start again with solid foundations”, in particular by using the resources offered by the giant OVH.
5,000 new subscriptions available in France
To prove his good faith, and regain the trust of users, Shadow knows that he still has everything to (re) prove. As a first step, the service has announced that it is up to date with its French waiting list, which has long continued to grow. This Wednesday, September 1, Shadow also announced the immediate provision of 5,000 new accounts, which will be accessible within 72 hours of ordering. A small revolution for cloud computing, which could finally have its heyday?
