Bloomberg confirms rumors about new Apple Watch sizes

A few days ago it was already indicated that the sizes of the Apple Watch will change again with the new Series 7 and this has now been confirmed by Bloomberg.

Apple Watch Series 7 comes in 41mm and 45mm sizes

In its new report, Bloomberg confirms the recently published rumors about the new display sizes of the Apple Watch Series 7. Should there actually be a 41 mm and a 45 mm variant of the Smartwatch, the dimensions being the dimensions of the case and is not just about the display. According to Bloomberg, the display of the larger model should be 1.9 inches. The 44 mm version of the Apple Watch Series 6 is 1.78 inches.

But that’s not all, because Bloomberg reveals even more details in its report. The resolution of the large model should be 396 x 484 pixels, which is around 16 percent more than the previous model. This means that more information – so-called complications – can be seen on the display. The thinner frames, which have been talked about for months, are also mentioned in the Bloomberg report.

In order to take advantage of the new display sizes, Apple has developed a number of new watch faces for the Watch 7, at least some of which will be available as soon as sales start

  • A new face called Modular Max digitally displays the time alongside a small complication – with information such as the day of the week, the outside temperature or quick access to an app – with larger complications that span the entire length of the screen at the bottom, one on top of the other. This is an upgrade from the current Infograph Modular, which can only show one major complication.
  • A face named Continuum changes based on the passage of time and the current hour.
  • A world time dial – internally called the Atlas and World Timer – lets a user see all 24 time zones at the same time. An external dial shows the time zones, while the inner dial shows the time in each location. Users can choose whether the time should be displayed digitally or in analogue. This dial is similar to those popularized by Patek Philippe, Breitling, and Vacheron Constantin.
  • Apple is also working on new faces for its Hermes and Nike branded Apple Watches. The Hermes version has numbers that change every hour, while a new Nike face has numbers that move based on a person’s movement.

Other changes to the Apple Watch Series 7

After the model change from the Apple Watch Series 3 to the Series 4, this is only the second time that Apple has changed the case sizes of its Smartwatch.

Another change will be the new processor of the Apple Watch Series 7, because it should be faster than its predecessor. Apple has also tweaked the design and adapted the watch to the look of the iPhone 12 and flattened the edges of the case. In order to bring the display closer to the cover glass, a new lamination technique was used that too The production problems and the Apple Watch Series 7 will therefore only be available at a later date or there could be delivery bottlenecks.
