Facebook and Ray-Ban tease the arrival of their new connected glasses

It’s official. While we were no longer expecting them, the new connected glasses from Facebook will be launched tomorrow, in partnership with the Ray-Ban brand. The information comes from the American eyewear manufacturer, who recently shared an enigmatic teasing image on its official website. Only information for the moment, a date (September 9 therefore), and a message: “Register now to receive your exit notification”. A black silhouette also leaves little room for suspense.

A new pair of connected glasses for Facebook?

If this announcement was not really expected by the general public, it coincides with the recent videos published by Mark Zuckerberg on his social network alongside Andrew Bosworth, the head of virtual and augmented reality at Facebook. As had already announced the boss of Facebook last July, these glasses should thus be the next product launch of Facebook, but also a real springboard towards the arrival of augmented reality technologies in our daily lives. Be careful, however, if we still do not know anything about this new connected accessory, we should not expect futuristic glasses with abundant features, had already warned Mark Zuckerberg. For the boss of Facebook, the company’s next wearable will first and foremost be part of a “initiative plus large” intended to create “Glasses that increase the world visually but also on the auditory level”. At the same time, GAFAM could also soon present its prototype of a connected neural bracelet.
