Skylum presents Luminar Neo its new photo editor

Luminar Neo is Skylum’s new gem. The software will be available this winter for € 79.

Already known to be at the origin of Luminar AI, the company Skylum took advantage of the fall to present a new photo editing software, even more powerful. Still based on a strong presence of artificial intelligence Luminar Neo wants to be the perfect competitor of the legendary Photoshop. Adobe’s software seems yet unbeatable, efficient, but even more, it has been anchored for years in the collective unconscious. Photoshop is now the absolute reference when it comes to photo retouching.

It is therefore this sacred monster that the company Skylum decides to attack. In order to compete with Adobe’s software on an equal footing, Skylum has seen it big. The goal is clear “Obtain results that seemed unattainable”. If the idea is to knock Photoshop off its pedestal, Skylum wants to do it with style. There is no question of copying the techniques so well used by Adobe software, Luminar Neo has its own technologies and intends to make its place, in its own way.

An AI that does everything (or almost)

The first advantage of this software that sets it apart from the competition is that it greatly avoids repetition. All tasks “Base” can be made with artificial intelligence, in order to simplify life as much as possible to users. Backlighting, removing unwanted elements or even completely replacing the background, all tasks performed directly by the software, without the user having to do anything.

For more precise modifications or on a case-by-case basis, Luminar is again a good ally for all people who want complete and intuitive software. If it is for the moment a cut below Photoshop, Luminar Neo could very well become an alternative of choice.

Skylum announced that the software would be available this winter without giving precise details for the price. However, a pre-order offer is already in progress. It starts at 54 € for the first 30,000 customers before increasing to 79 €, a price which could be the final price of the software.
