Tonight, Apple will kick off its back-to-school conference, dubbed “California Streaming”. The event should be largely devoted to the presentation of the new flagship of the brand, l’iPhone 13, but we also expect a few surprises, among which we will mention the Apple Watch Series 7 or new AirPods.
The conference will be broadcast live and accessible to all. It will open this evening at 7 p.m. (French time). You can follow it live as well on the dedicated page of the official Apple website, on your Apple devices from the Apple TV app, or on YouTube, via the livestream below.
What to expect from the event?
The iPhone 13 should obviously be the big star of the event. Four models are once again expected, including an iPhone 13, an iPhone 13 Mini, an iPhone 13 Pro and an iPhone 13 Pro Max. It is a priori to expect a design similar to that of the iPhone 12, except for the notch, the size of which would have been reduced.
We would be entitled to two sensors on the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini, and three on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. The latter would benefit from a Portrait mode in video as well as recording in ProRes. Finally, the Pro models would benefit from an OLED LTPO panel, capable of adapting its refresh rate up to 120 Hz depending on the content displayed.
As for the Apple Watch Series 7, we expect a complete design change. The watch would sport a new chassis with flat edges. The screen of the small model would thus increase to 41 mm, and that of the large model to 45 mm. As for the AirPods 3, they would look a lot like the AirPods Pro, but without the silicone tip. Shorter stem, therefore, but still no active noise reduction in the program.
Other products have also made the headlines of the specialist news in recent months, including new MacBook Pro equipped with an Apple Silicon chip, a new entry-level iPad or a new iPad mini largely revamped. A priori, these novelties would not be presented this evening but rather on the occasion of a second keynote which would take place within a few weeks.
To have answers to all these questions, we will meet tonight from 7 p.m., to discover together the new features that Apple has in store for us for the start of the school year!
