The new Nissan Ariya Electric is already on sale in Europe. The Japanese firm has started the commercialization of its new SUV electric in Norway. Considered a key market for electric cars, Norway is usually the first country where new electric models arrive. The Nissan Ariya is no exception and has just been put on sale in the Scandinavian country.
Available in four versions on the Norwegian market, the Japanese electric SUV is priced from 409,900 NOK in its basic version, the equivalent of 40,000 euros. It is the two-wheel-drive variant equipped with a 160 kW (218 CV) and a 63 kWh battery for a range of 360 km.
The 87 kWh two-wheel-drive version also offers more power: 178 kW (242 hp) and a theoretical range of around 500 km. Its price there is 499,900 Norwegian crowns, that is, 48,800 euros. The all-wheel drive version starts at NOK 529,900, or € 51,700.
If the opening of orders in Norway allows us to get an idea of the prices, these could be different in Spain. Different, in the sense of more expensive. Even so, the Japanese brand has some room for maneuver against the competition.
In Spain it could be between 40,000 and 45,000 euros
Located in the same segment, the Volkswagen ID.4 costs from 48,915 euros (without discounts or aid), while the Skoda Enyaq iV (177 CV) is available from 39,000 euros, not including discounts or incentives. If Nissan wants its Ariya to be competitive in Spain, it must be in a price zone closer to Skoda than to Volkswagen, between 40,000 and 45,000 euros.
The Nissan Ariya, remember, is the great electric novelty of Nissan for 2022. With an eminently Japanese design, it houses an interior with a huge amount of technology: voice recognition through natural commands, remote updates and Intelligent Mobility system for driving assistance . And of course it will have compatibility with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa.
You can equip a motor or two electric motors that will be associated with two different battery packs, which can be 63 kWh or 87 kWh useful, offering a total of five different configurations. It will be the Ariya 2WD with 63 and 87 kWh batteries associated with 160 and 178 kW (214 and 238 hp) engines respectively.
On the other hand, the Ariya 4WD e-4ORCE (one with each battery plus a Performance version) will have the same two batteries of 63 and 87 kWh with three powers: 205, 225 and 290 kW (274, 301 and 389 CV) with 560, 600 and 600 Nm of torque.
The autonomies (according to the WLTP cycle) range from the 340 km of the Ariya 4WD e-4ORCE of 205 kW and 63 kWh to the 500 km of the Ariya 2WD of 87 kWh. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h announces a record of 5.1 seconds for the Ariya 4WD e-4ORCE Performance.
