Disney + will adapt House of Secrets, the novel by Chris Columbus. He will be producing the live-action series.
It’s not just behind the camera that Chris Columbus puts his imagination to work for a story. The director and filmmaker also tried his hand at writing a novel, with the late Ned Vizzini. House of Secrets follows the adventures of the Walker children as they move into an old Victorian mansion full of dark and dusty nooks and crannies that once belonged to a mysterious writer. They are far from imagining that an evil witch is waiting for them there to send them to the books of the former owner.
After having produced the first two opus of the saga Harry Potter, Chris Columbus was inspired by the impact the bespectacled little wizard had on young audiences. He therefore decided to create his own literary universe in 2013.
Chris Colombus directing?
This project, announced by Ayo Davis (head of creative development at Disney) is currently in development; the firm did not however specify who would be behind the camera. Columbus, on the other hand, is expected to be involved in the production, along with his lifelong partners Michael Barnathan and Mark Radcliffe. The firm with big ears did not fail to welcome this new collaboration.
“Chris, Michael and Mark tell stories that resonate with multiple audiences, and across generations and genres. They offer a sense of magic and wonder through iconic characters. There are so many affinities for their acclaimed films, and we are delighted to be working with them to develop House of Secrets into an exciting Disney + series. ”
Behind the camera, Chris Columbus will soon unveil its adaptation of the game Five Night at Freddy’s released in 2014. As a reminder, the title places the player in the shoes of a night watchman who oversees a somewhat special pizzeria. The animatronics that make children happy during the day, turn into murderous creatures at night. Announced over 5 years ago, the footage is on the breaking news still in development at Blumhouse.
