The German specialist Brabus has a long history of hypervitamining Mercedes-Benz and AMG cars behind him. His latest creation is based on a Mercedes-Benz GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ Coupé, with which they have shaped a true missile worthy of the title of Most powerful SUV in the world.
The spectacular Brabus 900 GLE Coupe Rocket Edition, of which only will be made 25 units at a starting unit price set at slightly more than 381.000 euros, has been presented in society in the latest edition of the Monaco Yacth Show.
From 0 to 100 km / h in 3.2 seconds
This rocket – never better said – with unmistakable aesthetics is the umpteenth proof of how the Brabus experts are capable of continuing to surprise with their way of squeezing all the cars that pass through their hands to take them to new limits.
Under the hood, he wears the same V8 biturbo engine of the Mercedes-Benz GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ Coupé which takes as a base, but with the displacement increased to 4.5 liters.
In addition to modifying the internal dimensions of the heart of the bestial SUV, Brabus has carried out other rectifications such as adding new turbochargers, bigger pistons, a new crankshaft, high pressure pumps and, of course, has reprogrammed all the electronics.
The result is a high power up to 900 hp and a maximum torque of 1,950 Nm, which has remained limited to 1,050 Nm to protect the mechanics. All this force is transmitted to all four wheels through the well-known 4MATIC + traction and is managed by a nine-speed automatic gearbox.
Thus, the Brabus 900 GLE Coupe Rocket Edition it equates in power to another of the last brutalities worthy of the stamp of the German coach: the tremendous Mercedes-AMG G 63 Brabus Rocket 900 hp and 1,250 Nm of torque.
With an acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 330 km / h leaves behind other wild SUVs like the Lamborghini Urus, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT or the Bentayga Speed which, until now, were some of the street legal SUVs vying for the title of the fastest in its class.
Although of course, we have to emphasize that unlike the Brabus, these three competitors come out of production with plenty of standard capabilities.
In the aesthetics section of the Brabus 900 GLE Coupe Rocket EditionThe 24-inch wheels stand out (although the 23-inch “Platinum Edition” can be fitted) and the unique design, which surround Continental tires measuring 295/30 ZR23 on the front axle and 335/30 ZR23 on the rear.
The sports exhaust made of titanium and carbon signed by Brabus has four outlets and has active sound management.
How could it be otherwise, the interior to match the exterior, is eminently sporty and made to measure. The charcoal gray tone predominates with red accents and, of course, premium materials such as leather, carbon fiber or fine woods have been used.
Its price is the worst part, since each of the 25 units that Brabus will make of this model will cost 381,243 euros basic (excluding taxes), significantly higher than the starting price of the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S Coupé. Each unit is guaranteed for 3 years or 100,000 km.
