The title was revealed in a trailer released for the 20th anniversary of the Ghost Recon saga
Last night, Ubisoft held a very special conference, since it was to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the games Ghost Recon, for the first time released in 2001. For the occasion, the studio had promised to unveil a brand new Ghost Recon project, without saying if it was a game or another production of the same name.
During the event the fans did not have to wait very long, since Ghost Recon Frontline revealed itself in a first announcement trailer, which you can watch below. It will therefore be a game, which does not yet have a release date.
The peculiarity of Ghost Recon Frontline lies in its particular gameplay mechanics. Players will have to compete on large scale maps, with 100 players per game. To do this, cross-play will be supported from the day the title is launched to allow all players to compete against each other while minimizing the efforts to find a game. The game will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, PC, Stadia, and Amazon Luna.
The first closed test on approach
In order to test its brand new multiplayer game, Ubisoft will hold a closed test phase which will take place from October 14 to 21, only for PC players in Europe. Players will then be able to experience the game’s Expedition mode, which is a revisit to the Ghost Recon of a battle royale. No shrinking area in Frontline, but several strategic points to explore in order to fulfill objectives. Ubisoft explains:
“Once players are done collecting intels, they will need to go to a drop zone and request extraction. As soon as this request has been made, all the teams present on the map will know the position of the extraction and will try to intervene ”.
And Ghost Recon Frontline does not yet have a release date, we still know that the game will be free-to-play and therefore that it will be open to everyone for free from its launch.
