Among the games that have left their mark on history, the Grand Theft Auto trilogy arises here. Initiated in 2001 on the PlayStation 2, the Rockstar Games saga has allowed millions of players to think of themselves as gangsters!
After experiencing a tenth anniversary edition, GTA III will be the subject of a remaster in HD on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the saga. In addition to the original game, Rockstar Games announced that Vice City and San Andreas, which form the GTA III trilogy, will also be offered in a new version called Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition.
A mobile version for 2022
This definitive edition (before the 30 years anniversary?) Will be released on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series S / X, as well as on the Switch later this year. IOS and Android versions are also in the studio’s pipes, they will be available in the first half of 2022. However, the studio has not said anything about prices.
Rockstar Games has not been very talkative about the changes that will be made to the three games. The studio is content to mention improvements for graphics and gameplay, while promising to respect the ” look & feel Classic of its titles. Hopefully the developers won’t go too far in the remaster …

This edition will in any case allow a whole new generation of players to touch what was a real cultural phenomenon at the time. GTA III caused a sensation when it was released, it was indeed the first opus to integrate a 3D engine (the two previous episodes were in 2D) in an open world where everything seemed possible, including the worst!
The adventures of Claude (GTA III) by Tommy Vercetti (Vice City) and CJ (San Andreas) are still worth living today. Rockstar is also announcing that current versions of all three games will be withdrawn from stores on October 11. Hopefully this new edition will be released soon after.
