For several years now, Volvo has been relying on its Forum, a mobile exhibition with which the car manufacturer can present itself wherever its target group is. According to the marketing experts, these are not the classic auto shows, but sports or cultural events
Now the company is going one step further and opening the first Volvo studio in the Outletcity Metzingen. The temporary showroom in the direct vicinity of luxury brands such as Gucci and Prada gives those interested the opportunity to get to know the brand. The focus is on the electrified models, especially the new C40 Recharge electric model. In addition to the C40, which should go on sale later this year, Volvo is showing a cutaway model of an electric car that allows a look at the technology, including the battery.
Further studios planned
On site, interested parties can not only view the exhibits, but also use virtual reality to find out about equipment features or take a test drive in the real world. The plug-in hybrid models XC60 and XC90 as well as the fully electric XC 40 Recharge are currently available for test drives. The C40 Recharge will be added at the end of the year. Those who are convinced can buy the car directly in Metzingen or take out a subscription.
The Volvo studio is to remain in Metzingen for a few months, the manufacturer has already announced further studios. They will differ in size and duration of use and will be set up in different locations in order to be as close as possible to potential customers.
