The Cupertino company would take advantage of its October 18 event to present its new generation of AirPods.
After intense weeks of rumors, Apple has finally announced a new event for the next week. The keynote will take place on Monday, October 18, and the firm should notably present its new MacBook Pros, as well as its latest Apple Silicon chip, which should bear the name of Apple M1X.
But if the MacBook Pro is expected to be the star of the event, a new pair of headphones could be part of the festivities. According to the Chinese leaker PandalsBald on Weibo, Apple should lift the veil on its third generation of AirPods on October 18.
These AirPods 3 have been mentioned by leakers for some time. Their presentation was eagerly awaited last month, where during the keynote of the iPhone 13. Finally, they did not deign to point the tip of their rods. This October 18, Apple will therefore have another opportunity to present its new headphones, hoping that it is the right one.
As a reminder, the AirPods 3 should inaugurate a new design. Exit the traditional look of AirPods 1 & 2. The new AirPods would have the right to much shorter rods, like the AirPods Pro. Still, they shouldn’t give in to the appeal of silicone eartips and would retain their open-fit format, resting in the hollow of the ear. Therefore, we would not be entitled to active noise reduction, which would remain an exclusive feature of AirPods Pro.
We would also find a new case, smaller and elongated. Unfortunately, no price has leaked and it is not yet known whether these new headphones will coexist between the old AirPods and the AirPods Pro, or if they will rather replace the former. As for the second generation of AirPods Pro, it is not expected until next year, according to the first rumors about it.
