Mike Nigro, formerly Senior Vice President, Europe for Enterprise Holdings, has retired after 38 years with Enterprise. His successor, Khaled Shahbo, will lead the rental car company’s European business.
In 1991, Khaled Shahbo joined a car rental company in a Southern California branch through the management trainee program. With the expansion into Europe, Shahbo led various groups of Enterprise in the UK in 1994. In 2015 he was appointed Managing Director for Great Britain and Ireland. Khaled Shahbo has been Senior Vice President of Enterprise in the UK and Ireland since 2018. During this time, the services, the technologies and the branch network were expanded. These include the development of the “Enterprise Car Club” division and the integration of SHB Hire into the “Flex-E-Rent” division.
Khaled Shahbo is a member of Business in the Community’s Race Equality Leadership Team and is actively involved in programs to promote inclusion. He is also a board member of the Bridge Builders Mentoring Program, which supports socially disadvantaged youth in elementary and secondary schools.
Enterprise Holding owns and operates the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands through independent regional subsidiaries. Services in the areas of car rental, car sharing, truck rental, fleet management, vehicle sales and travel management as well as other transport services are offered. According to the company, nearly 1.7 million vehicles are managed through a network of more than 9,500 rental stations in cities and at airports in almost 100 countries and regions. Enterprise Holdings is privately owned by the Taylor family of St. Louis, Missouri, USA.
