SteelSeries Introduces Apex 3, Its First Water Resistant Keyboard

SteelSeries presents its new keyboard: the Apex 3, with a promise. It is water resistant.

A well-known brand among players, SteelSeries is today one of the world leaders on the gaming accessories and peripherals market, both for the general public and for the esport scene that it equips for the most part. Always looking for performance and constantly wanting to improve its products, the American firm presented this week its Apex 3 TenKeyLess (TKL). This new kind of gaming keyboard is the first TKL model to be water resistant. The brand offers a product for both casual, beginner and more experienced players.

The big plus of this keyboard remains its IP32 certification which makes it resistant to splashes and dust, a luxury that many players dream of. It is common to see keyboards stop working after clumsiness with a glass of water or a drink.

Fragile, these products are not very comfortable with liquids, which damage them very quickly. This certification therefore allows, without making the keyboard waterproof, to make it survive a few drops spilled.

20 million presses in silence

SteelSeries reminds during the presentation of its product that the TKL design is today the most preferred model on the esport scene. The brand also explains that its keyboard has been designed so that 20 million presses are made on the keys without them losing their effectiveness.

Another great advantage announced by the brand concerning this new keyboard: its silence. Indeed, the firm assures that the product is one of the most discreet there is, which allows to play without problem for hours. With lighting using technology Brilliant PrismSync, the keyboard offers 8 zones of 16.8 million colors each, all of which can be personalized and synchronized according to the player’s wishes with other SteelSeries brand products.

The Apex 3 TKL is today heralded as the most “affordable and comprehensive product to date” in the brand’s own words about it. It is already available on the official SteelSeries store for € 54.99.
