During the presentation of the new Volkswagen ID.5, the German brand has shown in passing what the sounded like looks so far electric van ID.BUZZ, still in development phase.
We will have to wait until 2022 to know its final forms, and production is expected to start that same year.
Volkswagen does not loose garment
During the advance of what will be the first ID to be offered as a passenger vehicle and as a commercial vehicle, the German firm has not wanted to release a pledge.
In this preview we see how the forms of the ID.BUZZ have been hardened with respect to the prototype that we saw in a distant 2017 in Detroit, with the aim of optimizing the interior space.
It is very similar to the concept ID. BUZZ AD which was presented in September this year, equipped with a complex autonomous driving system. We have also seen it roll to the future production version of the minibus hardly any camouflage.
We know that it will be built in Hannover, Germany (home to all generations of the Volkswagen T1), on Volkswagen’s MEB XL modular platform and that it will be offered in a long version in 2023 and in a standard version.
You may share items such as the motors or batteries in your Volkswagen ID.3 e ID.4., which means that its range will have variants ranging between 93 and 150 kW of power and 45 to 77 kWh of battery capacity.
As a result of characteristics such as the aerodynamics of the model and its weight, it could remain around 400 kilometers of autonomy, and its price would be around 50,000 euros.
Volkswagen Group’s sister company MOIA has already confirmed that it will be the first to make use of the Level 3 autonomous driving features planned to be available on the ID. BUZZ.
