The front end features a new headlight design and a minimized front grille with a thin strip of light that joins the two headlamps. Some headlights that are LED as standard and Matrix LED optionally.

Where we find a major change is at the rear. For the first time in the history of the Multivan abandon the vertical arrangement of the pilots to now extend horizontally through the tailgate and give it a more minivan appearance.

The front seats are individual and there is no longer a gear lever (or handbrake lever), but a little selector already used in other models of the group and that leaves a much cleaner space between the seats in the first row.

There will be two lengths (the same battle) with 4.97 and 5.17 meters long, growing 124 mm with respect to the previous model. That leaves us a brutal cabin with between 469 and 4,053 liters of cargo capacity.

The driving position also changes radically, embracing digitization with a display of 10 inches behind the wheel that simulates being attached to another 10.25 inch for the infotainment system.

The mechanical supply at the moment will be two gasoline, a diesel and a PHEV. The gasoline is 1.5 TSI of 136 CV and 2.0 TSI of 204 CV, while diesel offers 150 CV. For its part, the plug-in hybrid combines a 1.4-liter turbo gasoline engine with 150 hp and a 115 hp electric motor on the front axle. The combined power is 218 CV and the autonomy of the 13 kWh battery has not been declared, but it does announce a ZERO label.

All engines will use a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission, completely bypassing manual gearboxes.

For this new generation the platform change is especially representative because this way the Multivan can embrace new driving aids, placing itself at the forefront of the segment.

Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keeping Assist, Signal Recognition, Car2X Communication and, icing on the cake, the system IQ.DRIVE Travel Assist semi-autonomous driving between 0 and 210 km / h.

The new Volkswagen Multivan part of 39.390 euros for the short Multivan Life with a 1.5 TSI engine, and comes to 59,570 euros for the long Multivan Style 1.4 eHybrid. The plug-in hybrid mechanics can be included in the MOVES III, staying at 48,700 euros (with discounts).

Gasoline Multivans arrive in dealerships this November, and diesel and PHEVs will have to wait until spring. Then we leave all the prices in the range, with the exception of diesel, which will start from about 42.360 euros (price not officially confirmed).
