While it is true that the BMW M3 Competition You do not need any additives to impress, the expert preparers of AC Schnitzer have not missed the opportunity to tailor the sports sedan to suit and have created a body kit specific to add an extra spice. But they have not only limited themselves to adding aesthetic modifications.
Among other mechanical improvements, this superlative M3 G80 and renamed ACS3 Sport, has received an extra power and now develops neither more nor less than 590 hp and reaches 750 Nm of torque. To the equation we add new elements in the interior such as the steering wheel and the result is a dark object of desire for every car fan.
The German trainers of AC Schnitzer carry more than three decades preparing BMW, MINI, Land Rover or Toyota and they know how to perfectly combine the right doses of aesthetics, aerodynamics and performance to achieve truly wild versions of each of the cars that pass through their facilities.
It is the case of this impressive BMW M3 Competition, which has spent many hours in the wind tunnel to reach its final and most radical version.
Starting with the aerodynamics of the car, AC Schnitzer has included a new front splitter that adds 40 kg of downforce at 200 km / h, new flaps and air vents in the hood, a spoiler at the end of the roof that adds another 20 kg and a generous rear spoiler which, in combination with the carbon fiber diffuser, adds 70 kg more.
Regarding aesthetics, details such as the 20 inch forged wheels (available in silver or anthracite) that are wrapped in competition tires measuring 285/30 R 20 on the front axle and 295/30 R 20 on the rear. The set is finished off by a new stainless steel exhaust system with 110 mm diameter carbon outlets.
In the mechanical section, this M3 has received a new adjustable RS threaded suspension (in compression and extension) to achieve an ideal balance between toughness and handling of the car at high speeds. With it, you can reduce the height of the car up to 20 mm to stick it even more to the asphalt.
And in case the acquaintance 3.0 six-cylinder in-line engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology with 510 hp of power as standard was not enough, AC Schnitzer has been commissioned to modify the car electronically to achieve an increase of 80 hp and take it up to 590 hp with a maximum torque of 750 Nm.
The preparer has not specified data in terms of performance, although with these improvements it is easy that the 0 to 100 km / h in 3.9 seconds that the series car achieves can be lowered by at least a couple of tenths.
Moving on to the passenger compartment, the changes are fair but they are very successful: the new Nappa black leather and black alcantara steering wheel is most tempting. The larger paddles and chrome details, along with elements such as the aluminum pedals and footrests, provide greater sportiness compared to the production car to match the exterior.
