The Precept concept vehicle presented at the beginning of 2020 should go into series production as the Polestar 5 in 2024, as the Swedish-Chinese carmaker announced. The Volvo sister brand also previewed the final design of the electric sports sedan. In the third episode of the video series “Precept: From Concept Vehicle to Car” published on Youtube, the manufacturer also shows the development of the Polestar 5’s design.
“With the Precept documentary series, we are consciously doing something that car manufacturers normally don’t do – we take a look behind the scenes and transparently show how we can turn this breathtaking concept vehicle into reality,” says Polestar boss Thomas Ingenlath. “It makes me very proud to see how much of the design of the concept car has gone into the Polestar 5 – a great achievement by our designers and engineers.”
Documentary series on Polestar 5
The third part of the series therefore provides the most detailed view of the vehicle and its way to production so far. The series shows the main production features that set the Polestar 5 apart from the concept vehicle. The evolution of the Polestar 5’s sustainability, technology and performance features will be covered in future episodes of the series.
The “Polestar 5” designation for the Precept was confirmed on the eve of its North American debut in the first week of December. The Precept was developed to give an outlook on the future of Polestar. He embodies the most important pillars of the company: design, sustainability, technology and performance. With a view to readiness for series production, the Polestar 5 stands for the manufacturer’s increasingly independent design language, which can already be recognized in the Polestar 3, which is expected to come onto the market in 2022.
