WhatsApp is working on a new feature for audios. It is a dynamic that we already have available for voice memos, but it has not been implemented in all audio messages.
At the moment, it is a function in development so we will have to wait to see it on WhatsApp, but we already know what it is about.
WhatsApp will allow you to change the playback speed of audio files
At the beginning of this year, WhatsApp launched the option that allows you to change the playback speed of voice notes. A useful dynamic when we want to finish a very long voice note quickly or when we want to listen more carefully to a part of the audio that we do not understand.
However, this dynamic does not apply to all audio files. So if you receive a forwarded voicemail, you will find that it does not have those options to change the playback speed. However, this would be about to change.
As mentioned in WABetaInfo, the different playback speeds will also be compatible with the audio messages. WhatsApp would be developing a new button so that these options also appear in forwarded voice notes. It seems like a small change, but WhatsApp in this way would be extending to all audio files the possibility of changing the way they are played.
This new option was detected in one of the latest versions of WhatsApp beta for iOS, but it is still under development. So we will have to wait several months before seeing this new dynamic at work in one of the stable versions of the WhatsApp app.
