Before the separation: Daimler Truck transfers oldtimers and archive

A few days before the split into a car and a truck manufacturer, Daimler brought historic trucks and parts of the archive from the Stuttgart area to Wörth in the south of the Palatinate. The group has a large plant there for Mercedes-Benz trucks with around 10,000 employees. As Daimler announced on Thursday, the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart-Untertürkheim should remain “the primary location accessible to everyone” in the company’s history even after the split.

The truck and bus business will be spun off from the group on December 1st. Daimler Truck is scheduled to go public on December 10th. The previous Daimler division with over 100,000 employees sees itself as the world market leader for commercial vehicles. With the split, Mercedes cars and trucks will for the first time go their separate ways and each have their own management. (dpa / swi)
