Successor to Andreas Tostmann: Alexander Vlaskamp is to become the new MAN boss

MAN is getting a new boss: Alexander Vlaskamp, Scania’s head of sales and marketing, is to succeed Andreas Tostmann, as the holding company Traton announced. Vlaskamp has already replaced Tostmann on their board of directors, but the formal approval of the supervisory board is still required for appointment as CEO of MAN.

Vlaskamp has many years of experience in the commercial vehicle market. He was Head of Aftersales and Managing Director of Scania in Germany and Austria for five years each, and later worked for the truck manufacturer in Poland and Sweden. He has held his current position since 2020.

MAN is currently in the middle of a restructuring process, with the reduction of up to 3,500 jobs planned. The Munich-based truck manufacturer is nowhere near as profitable as the Scania brand, which is also part of Traton. Traton boss Andreas Renschler left the company just over a year ago and was replaced by Christian Levin.
