Traffic light coalition: funding for e-cars should expire

The SPD, Greens and FDP want to reform funding for electric cars and plug-in hybrids first and then let it expire by the end of 2025. The current innovation bonus for buying an electric car will continue until the end of 2022, according to the coalition agreement between the three parties presented on Wednesday. From January 2023, funding should only be granted for cars that have been shown to have a positive effect on climate protection. To do this, they have to achieve a certain minimum electric range, among other things; 80 kilometers are planned for this from August 1, 2023. After 2025 there should no longer be an innovation bonus. (dpa / swi)
