The imposing and spectacular BMW iX already has a price in Spain: from 87,150 euros

The BMW iX It is not a concept car, it is a very real car. This electric SUV has rational arguments to knock down the Tesla Model X and Audi e-tron, for example.

Among these arguments a new, unprecedented and specific platform for electric mobility (CLAR platform), with front and rear engines and a structure reinforced with carbon fiber. Even its interior looks like something out of a show car, but no, this aerodynamic SUV (Cx of 0.25) is already for sale in Spain, from 87,150 euros.

Measure 4.95 m long by 1.97 m wide and 1.69 m high, with a battle of 3 meters, and a weight that starts at 2,440 kg. In dimensions, it is very close to the BMW X5. The range of the BMW iX starts at 87,150 euros for the version xDrive40.

It equips two electric motors (one on each axle) that offer all-wheel drive and a total power of 240 kW (326 CV) y 630 Nm. According to BMW, this SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.1 seconds.

The 71 kWh battery (76.6 kWh gross capacity) can be recharged to 80% in 31 minutes at a fast charging station thanks to a maximum charging power of 150 kW.

With this power you can recover 90 km of autonomy in 10 minutes or recharge the battery from 10 to 80% in 31 minutes. The full charge of the battery from scratch in alternating current, but with an 11 kW wallbox, takes just over eight hours.

With the 71 kWh battery, BMW announces a autonomy between 372 and 425 km. It should be noted that on this occasion BMW has revealed the minimum and maximum autonomy that is approved in the WLTP cycle.

Let us remember that this cycle does not give a single autonomy but rather a fork, and the data is not accessible to the public, the vast majority of manufacturers only publish the data that is most favorable to them. Good for the transparency of BMW.

The range is followed by BMW iX xDrive50 of 523 hp from 104,150 euros. It has a maximum charging power of 205 kW and a useful battery capacity of 105 kWh (it has a total capacity of 111.5 kWh). It is the largest battery on the market in a large series car in Europe.

The xDrive50 also has two motors and all-wheel drive, but develops 386 kW (523 CV) and delivers 765 Nm of torque. Accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.6 seconds. In this version, the Approved autonomy ranges between 549 and 629 km, thus surpassing that of Audi e-tron S (with its 371 km maximum) and that of the Tesla Model X (patient 580 km).

In the standard equipment of the BMW iX we find the air suspension, the four-wheel steering and the new “My Modes” mode that expands the possibilities of selecting vehicle settings.

The system has remote software updates and on-demand functions keep the vehicle’s software always up-to-date. The system of navigation is cloud-based BMW Maps and offers augmented reality on the control screen.
