CES 2022: Withings introduces the new Body Scan WiFi scale

Withings today announced the new Body Scan smart WiFi scale. The new introduction can take numerous health-related measurements and is able to monitor segmental body composition, weight and blood vessel age as well as nerve activity and heart rhythm using an electrocardiography test (EKG).

The new Withings scale is equipped with four sensors for weight measurement as well as 14 ITP electrodes for measuring blood pressure. Additional sensors are located in a pull-out handle that can be used to create a 6-channel ECG. The scales should record the weight with an accuracy of 50 grams and determine not only the heart rate but also the age of the blood vessels. The body scan should also be able to detect various diseases of the peripheral nervous system.

Health coaching on subscription

The measured values ​​are displayed on a 3.2 inch LCD color screen and are synchronized with the manufacturer’s app. In the app, the manufacturer also offers access to a coaching program and plans for Achievement of health goals. However, after a trial period of three months, there is a subscription fee for the use of these extended functions.

Withings Body Scan: price and availability

The new Withings Body Scan will go on sale in the second half of the year for around 300 euros. The scale is equipped with a built-in rechargeable battery and is connected to the home network via WiFi. The previous model, Withings Body Cardia, is currently available in stores for around 110 euros (Amazon*).
