Also thanks to the strong demand for electric cars: Volvo will increase its sales in 2021

Despite a weak December, the Swedish car maker Volvo Cars More cars sold in 2021 than a year earlier. In total, Volvo delivered 698,693 vehicles, as the Swedish company announced. Sales are thus 5.6 percent above the previous year’s figure.

The increasing number of sales was based on strong demand for electric and hybrid drives, of which Volvo sold around 64 percent more than in the previous year. Their share of total sales grew to over a quarter. Like other car manufacturers, Volvo repeatedly struggled with delivery bottlenecks in the past year.
