The Google team announced a series of innovations to improve driving using Android Auto and Android Automotive.
News that will begin to be implemented only in some car models, but that will be extended to other brands in the future.
New functions for cars with Android Auto or Google integrated
One of the announced novelties has to do with the function that allows you to use your mobile as a car key. A dynamic that is only available for mobile-compatible BMWs Samsung Galaxy S21 and Pixel 6, but that will be rolled out to more car models in the future.
The Google team also stressed that some brands are incorporating Android Auto wireless in your new car models. Cars like Ford and BMW can implement this dynamic by connecting their phones to Android Auto using Fast Fair technology.
But even when cars do not have this possibility, they can use other means, such as the Motorola MA1 wireless adapter. And on the other hand, Google also announces that drivers will be able to have new applications integrated into Android Auto, thanks to its association with Lyft and Kakao Mobility, among other new options.
And of course, news related to Android Automotive have also been announced:
With Google Play built in, you will soon be able to download navigation apps like Sygic and Flitsmeister, charging apps like ChargePoint and PlugShare, parking apps like SpotHero and ParkWhiz, and point of interest apps.
Google mentions that manufacturers such as General Motors, Polestar and Volvo Cars are the first to apply this dynamic to their new car models. As you can see in the image above, Volvo Cars will debut the video entertainment function when the car is parked, so drivers can have content, for example, from YouTube.
And of course, it is not only about entertainment, but it will also make it easy to adjust car settings or perform remote actions to check the status of the vehicle from home.
