the lifespan of the game is crazy!

The developers have lifted the veil on how long it will take players to complete Dying Light 2. Will you be willing to last that long?

In less than a month, gamers around the world will finally be able to get their hands on the survival game. Dying Light 2. As its release is fast approaching, the developers have made some confessions about the content of the game … or rather on its lifespan. Indeed, on Twitter, the official account of Dying Light 2 informed us that it would take no less than 500 hours to finish the game! Between surprise, joy and disgust, here are the reactions of future players.

500 hours of fun? Not so sure

500 hours of adventure is not something to be taken lightly. As the studio specifies, it is more or less the time it will take you to walk from Warsaw to Madrid ! As long as you are a “casu” player, it will take you many months to see the end of the tunnel. Finally, the duration of the game varies a lot according to each adventure, and according to the proposed gameplay.

As a reminder Dying Light 2 transports you to a post-apocalyptic open world, without rules and without government, and in which reigns the law of the strongest … or the smartest. To survive, and save what remains of humanity, you will have to fight against hordes of zombies, influence the rest of the survivors, and choose your side in the most humane way possible. Be careful, each choice you make will have an impact on your adventure.

That said, we really can’t imagine spending 500 hours on this kind of game. surely repetitive gameplay, even if the story is interesting. This is the opinion of many players who admit to having canceled their pre-order, like this user who does not understand the purpose of the declaration. He declared : « the fact that you think this is an advantage worries me a lot about your priorities when it comes to content creation. I have canceled my order at the moment. »

Sweaty Completists, and with good reason

Others defend the position of the studio, which also specifies that the 500 hours will be necessary to “complete” the game: ” this concerns the 100% completion rate, most of the players who are there for the story and the side quests will be able to complete the game faster, and still have a satisfying experience! »

For comparison, we pass about 120 hours on a game like Assassin’s Creed (Odyssey, Valhalla) to complete it completely and get Platinum on PlayStation. These 500 hours therefore seem really exaggerated, especially for those who would have wanted to obtain this famous trophy.

However, when the studio mentions the completion rate of 100%, it could just as well refer to the content of the game and not to the trophies, for the moment this statement has not been clarified. See you on February 4th to learn more about it.
